Details

Corduroy outside, sherpa inside. This is the ranch-jacket formula and it has survived seventy years because it is genuinely warm, genuinely hard-wearing, and looks better beaten up than new.

Fabric
Corduroy face — a cut-pile weave that catches light in lines and wears in rather than out. Sherpa-style lining through the body, where the high pile traps air and does the actual insulating.

Build
Button-front closure, classic turn-down collar, practical front pockets.

Fit
Comfortable everyday cut with room to layer over a shirt or a sweater. Sized S through 2XL. True to size; size up if you want it over a thick knit.

Colours
Three: Black, Brown and Off White.

Care
Follow the label in the garment. Wash inside out — corduroy collects lint in the pile — and do not press the face of the fabric, which crushes the wale flat.

Wear it with
Denim and boots. Off White is the interesting one and the one that shows everything; brown is the one that will still look right in ten years.

How to measure

Chest: Around the fullest part, under the arms, with the tape level across the back and your arms down. Do not puff your chest out — measure the body you have on a normal day.
Waist: Around your natural waist, above the hip bone. Breathe out normally and keep one finger between the tape and your body.
Sleeve: From the centre back of your neck, across the shoulder, down to the wrist bone with the arm slightly bent.
Between sizes: Size down for a closer line through the chest, up if you plan to layer something underneath.

What if it does not fit?

You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. Email support@vanguarda.com with your order number and we send the instructions. Items should be in the condition you received them.

How do the quantity discounts work?

They apply on their own at checkout - no code. Two pieces take 15% off, three take 25%, and it keeps climbing to 45%. Mix any products you like; the discount reads the total number of pieces in the bag.

Is checkout secure?
